Kellie Copeland
Executive Director (she/her)
Kellie Copeland has served as the Executive Director of Abortion Forward since 2002. In her fight to protect reproductive freedom in Ohio, she has been quoted in every major Ohio media outlet and has testified at over 40 anti-abortion hearings. With a degree from the University of Akron, her career includes working for the AFL-CIO, Clinton/Gore ’96, and the Michigan Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign. She has held appointments at the U.S. Department of Education, the Summit County Board of Elections, and the City of Tallmadge. Kellie also serves as a deaconess and treasurer for First Grace United Church of Christ in Akron.
Jaime Miracle
Deputy Director (she/her)
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Jaime Miracle started with the organization as a field organizer in June 2004 and moved to policy director in 2010. Prior to working with Abortion Forward, she conducted research into vision development at The OSU College of Optometry and breast cancer prevention at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Jaime has a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy with a focus on Women’s Health Research and Activism from the Western College Program at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Kel McConaughey
Development Director (she/they)
Kel McConaughey comes to Abortion Forward with more than a decade of nonprofit executive leadership experience in fundraising, grants, events, and volunteer management. Previously they worked in the areas of social justice, housing, food access, and community development. Kel was also a Peace Corps Volunteer in The Gambia from 2005-2007. Originally from Canton, Ohio, Kel has resided in central Ohio since 2017. She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from The Ohio State University.
Gabriel Mann
Communications Director (he/him)
Gabriel Mann joined the Abortion Forward team in 2015 following six years with Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio. There, he honed skills in web and graphic design, video editing, fundraising, monitoring legislation, electoral field work, coordinating social media, and database management. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Gabriel’s career has included being a legislative aide in the Ohio Senate, political and labor organizing with SEIU District 1199 WV/OH/KY, and multiple ballot initiatives.
Cole Wojdacz
Field Manager (she/her)
Cole Wojdacz is a lifelong advocate for reproductive rights and is very excited to be returning home to the Abortion Forward family. Cole spent the first part of her career working on local and state-wide political campaigns, staffing elected officials, and most recently working in communications for a local labor union. She is deeply passionate about reproductive justice, anti-racism, access to abortion, and all things consent. In her spare time, she is a cannabis advocate and puts her logistic brain to use working with individuals and organizations to create custom solutions to help balance their lives and time.
Ryan Conway
Operations Director (they/them)
Ryan Conway is an advocate of social equity and has focused on reproductive rights in the areas of abortion access, contraception, and comprehensive sex education. They are passionate about community education and advocacy on the intersection of gender identity, health, and politics. Ryan worked in the healthcare industry for eight years as an RN prior to entering nonprofit administration. Ryan is a graduate of Kent State University with a Master of Public Administration and SHRM-CP certification.
Sha’Tisha Young
Digital and Relational Associate (they/them)
Sha’Tisha Young is a committed abortion rights activist and former library staffer. Pivoting to full-time political work in 2019, they have several years’ experience running social media and digital communications campaigns. Sha’Tisha attended Wright State University for a bachelor’s degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with dual minors in Classical Humanities and Youth and Community Engagement.
Mya Ray
Field Organizer (they/them)
Mya Ray has passion for reproductive freedom, anti-racism, and holistic care that has brought them to the Abortion Forward team. They are proudly a first-generation graduate from Ohio Northern University, with Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and psychology. Mya encouraged diversity on campus by being a founding member and president of the first Student African American Sisterhood in Ohio, and coordinated a Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging training for Greek life students. They embrace action and using their voice, especially throughout 2020, leading and marching in several Black Lives Matter rallies. Mya is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work, bridging mental health and policy. In their free time, Mya enjoys performing in drag and trying to find the best taco spot in town.
Aubrey Crabb
Field Organizer (she/her)
Aubrey Crabb is a dedicated advocate for reproductive justice, sexual violence prevention, and sex education. She is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, with a degree in Public Affairs. While at OSU, she taught consent classes to students, led a committee on sexual violence prevention, and was a legal and helpline advocate for survivors. After graduating, she worked as a staffer in the Ohio Senate, and has since found a home in the Ohio repro space, working for OWA and PPAO in various organizing and canvassing roles. Aubrey is excited to grow as an organizer with Abortion Forward, helping bust abortion stigma and work with pro-abortion Ohioans.
Noah Hutson
Development Associate (he/him)
Noah Hutson joins Abortion Forward after four years as a freelance corporate photographer and many more years as an operations manager at a regional law firm. These avenues have led to extensive experience with the stories that data can tell through acquisition, management, organization, and creative presentation of numbers and information. Noah is deeply passionate about reproductive rights, equal access, and parity in sports for women and trans athletes. He and his partner have long careers promoting bicycle races in the Ohio area that strive to provide a safe space for all athletes and provide equal incentives for all who participate. In his spare time, Noah enjoys riding bicycles, making pottery, and telling referees that they’ve made the wrong call against his beloved Columbus Crew.
Sakina
Patients to Advocates Coordinator (she/her)
Sakina is fierce advocate for reproductive justice, health, and rights, with a passion for exploring the intersection of race and gender. Armed with a Bachelor’s in Political Science and a Master’s in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Cincinnati, she empowers change as the Program Coordinator for Abortion Forward. When she’s not leading change, you can find her indulging in her favorite hobbies: watching TV, enjoying movies, sipping wine, and mastering the art of vegan, gluten free cooking!
