New Bernie Moreno Video Shows His Disdain for People Who Need Abortion

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Newly uncovered video from Bernie Moreno’s early stages of his US Senate campaign shows him discussing abortion in March, 2023.

In response to Moreno’s comments, Abortion Forward Executive Director Kellie Copeland said: “Moreno’s comments this past weekend revealed his disrespect for women who value reproductive freedom. Now, we see his older comments denying that abortion is healthcare. His words expose his desire to punish those who have abortions. Abortion is healthcare. Those who have or provide abortions have our love and respect. Ohioans will never surrender to extremists like Bernie Moreno. Our votes in November will prove it.”

In discussing our endorsement for the US Senate race in Ohio, Copeland said: “Abortion Forward is proud to endorse his opponent, Sen. Sherrod Brown, because he has always stood up to protect access to abortion and the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare. Senator Brown has fought to ensure that Ohioans have access to abortion, where they live, and without stigma or delay. We need to re-elect Sherrod Brown to the US Senate to stop extremists like Bernie Moreno from passing a federal abortion ban which would overrule the reproductive freedom amendment that Ohioans overwhelmingly passed last year.”
