New tool for Ohioans to send copy of the Ohio Reproductive Freedom Amendment to elected officials

COLUMBUS — Roadblocks to abortion care aim to limit everyone’s freedom to control their lives and build the future they want. To remind Ohio elected officials of this, Abortion Forward Alliance has launched a new tool that gives every Ohioan the ability to send a copy of the Ohio Reproductive Freedom Amendment to Gov. DeWine, the Ohio Attorney General, and their state senator and state representative.

Abortion Forward Alliance Executive Director Kellie Copeland said: “Abortion is a decision, not a debate. Our decisions aren’t up for debate – it’s time to reclaim our bodies, our power, and our future. Ohioans sent a clear message to elected officials in 2023 and continue to send it today. We are united in demanding the freedom to make our own decisions around abortion care: for ourselves, for our families, and for our futures. We believe in a future where we are all treated with dignity and respect – that includes the freedom to get abortion care if that’s what is best for our bodies and lives.”

The Ohio Reproductive Freedom Amendment was enshrined into the Ohio Constitution as Article 1, Section 22 upon passage of the Issue 1 ballot initiative in November, 2023. The full amendment language and form to send the amendment via email is available at SendTheAmendment.com

Copeland added: “These decisions have real consequences for our lives and futures. The Ohio Reproductive Freedom Amendment gave advocates the tools to begin to break down the barriers to care and build a future where we’re all free to make our own decisions.
