For decades, our team has been fighting to protect abortion access in Ohio, working alongside you and other Ohioans.
With last year’s overwhelmingly successful passage of Issue 1, we now have the right to abortion and reproductive health care protected via the state’s new Ohio Reproductive Freedom Amendment.
But the work isn’t done yet — far from it.
To begin a new phase in the fight, to go on the offense, and truly dig in on the hard work necessary to end abortion stigma and make abortion access a reality for ALL Ohioans… our team has made the decision to re-examine our core mission, restate our values, and reestablish our whole role in the reproductive rights movement.
With this renewed commitment to these goals comes a new identity. Today, we are excited to announce that Pro-Choice Ohio is formally changing our name and identity to become Abortion Forward. Our 501(c)(3) entity is changing from Pro-Choice Ohio Foundation to become Abortion Forward Alliance.
Our new mission, vision, and values will allow us to continue to lead the fight for abortion in Ohio. Busting abortion stigma isn’t just a theme — it is crucial to showing people who have had abortions and those who will need them in the future that they are supported, they are loved, and that their abortion was essential health care. Busting stigma is the key to reversing the harm caused by decades of abortion restrictions in Ohio.
